A lot of people still prefer to receive their bills and statements on paper. While it’s true that delivery of statements is moving towards online delivery, paper delivery remains a significant portion.

You hear it every day. Everything is going digital. Mail has become email. Phone calls have become text messages. TV has become online streaming. And nothing is printed on paper anymore.

But, in at least one area, that’s not entirely true. A lot of people still prefer to receive their bills and statements on paper. While it’s true that delivery of statements is moving towards online delivery, paper delivery remains a significant portion.

And, studies have shown that people who receive paper statements in the mail spend more time reading the statements and absorb the information presented there more than they do with online statements.

This presents a great opportunity for you. While they are reading the statements, why not present some of your products and services? You’ve got their attention. You’ve got great products or services. They are already your customer. This is a great time to talk to your customers about your newest offering. Or, better yet, offer something that is tailored specifically to the individual customer.

Since you know who you are sending the statement to and they are a customer of yours, you can marry information from your database with your product information to create an ad that speaks directly to your customer.

Imagine that. You’ve got their attention. You can create an ad that speaks directly to them. It’s a great combination. It’s a combination that can help grow your business.

It’s called TransPromo (transactional promotion). Direct mail marketing companies have powerful software that compiles the information and creates the ads on the fly, so for a small incremental difference you can be speaking directly to your customers on a monthly basis.
